(Taken from Yelp)Food that brings back nostalgic memories of the first time I had great Chinese food is a powerful one. To taste great is one thing but to be tasty and invoke emotions takes food to a new level.
Let's face it: Atlanta isn't really known for its dim sum or spectacular Chinese food but tonight, Ming's BBQ dared to challenge that axiom. The first time I had great Chinese food was in Canada where Hong Kong style cuisine reigns. Chow mein isn't the chow mein we see here and beef chow fun is at a whole new level up north. But man, does Ming's come close.
We started with the Wonton soup and BBQ sample plate. The soup was light yet flavorful and the dumplings were soft and tasty. We got the honey BBQ pork and duck for our sampler and that was also cooked to perfection. The touch of honey with the natural sweetness of the tender pork melts in your mouth and the duck is juicy with a crispy skin - just how it should be. A great way to awaken the taste buds.
We then went onto have the beef chow fun, seafood tofu hotpot, steak iron pot, bayleaf clams, and Malaysian shrimp. The beef chow fun wasn't the best version I've had and could've been better, still pretty good.
The seafood tofu hotpot was well cooked and with a little bit of siracha, it was a tasty dish.
The steak in iron pot was recommended to us by the waiter and was also well cooked. Spicy, peppery and very tender beef, I just wished there was more to eat for the price.
The bayleaf clams were absolutely delicious. It's savory and there's a slight heat that hits you after eating the clam.
The Malaysian shrimp is tasty as well and the best part has to be the shrimp head - eyeballs and all.
I'll be returning to Ming's with a hungry stomach in the near future. Perhaps next time I'll visit the BuHi location but that honey BBQ pork alone is enough to lure me back into those doors.

I haven't had really good Chinese food before, but all those dishes look awesome! The seafood tofu hotpot sounds right up my alley :)
