fagan's biscuit barn (cumming, ga)

Hungry and weary on our way to Blue Ridge for the weekend, we stopped by Fagan's Biscuit Barn before making another 1.5 hour drive up north Georgia. While we could've easily picked up some spicy chicken biscuits or those delicious, little Chick-n-Minis from a Chick-Fil-A close by, we opted out for Fagan's. Holla at your boy for supporting the independents.

True to its name...it does look like a barn on the outside with a drive-thru on the side. If you choose to eat inside, you go up to the counter, order your food and wait till they call for your order -- simple enough. The food comes out really fast and breakfast is served all day. That's right folks, you can get a chicken biscuit after 10:30am!

We got 2 chicken biscuits, one with scrambled eggs and one with a slice of tomato (fried chicken, tomato, ketchup - it's awesome man). The biscuits aren't like the ones you may be used to seeing from the chains or other southern restaurants. It's flatter, not as doughy and almost biscuit like, texture wise, on the outside. This allows for a sandwich-like proportion between the bread and fillings. More chicken and whatever else you have inside in each bite and less biscuit. Because of this composition, the biscuit doesn't cling to your gums nor does it leave your mouth dry after every bite.

I forget what the exact cost for our meal was but each biscuit pictured above was under $3 -- and the biscuit is huge! It was a hearty and filling start to our fun weekend in Blue Ridge.
